Aiken County Democratic Party Meeting

Several speakers were present at the meeting.

Lance Jones gave us a rundown of the special election that took place on November 6th for the District 25 Senate seat and what we learned from it. It was noted that if just TWO MORE people per precinct had voted for Rep Bill Clyburn, he would have won the election! That is why it is so important to vote!

A man from the second congressional district is forming an exploratory committee to run against Rep Joe Wilson. He is a retired Air Force colonel who served 26 years on active duty before becoming a senior career civilian in the Defense Department. Before retiring, he was the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Oversight from 1998-2005.

We then heard from two representatives from our Democratic candidates, Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama.
